easter holiday starts today! assignments abis, exams timetable menyusul :s
went to the city to meet up with Razan and Diyana to do last minute shop for our 4-day Prague trip, which will be tomorrow :) Went to money shop to buy Czech Republic korona but both shops ran out of korona currency (mesti durang ni yg ngabiskan, hahahaa :p) so last place is at M&S which has lower rate (1pound=27.5czk). After that, we continued to buy the food supplies. As we're leaving the Chinatown, me and Razan separated from Diyana and met Kimin when he insisted we went back to Day In shop because he has never been there. Our last thing in the buy list is to buy 100ml travel bottles (because of the airport liquid limit) but we were so cheapskate we didnt want to buy the one at the Boots shop. we searched at 99p shop, BodyCare and Poundland but to no avail. Last resort, Kimin bought something at Poundland and planned to throw out the content and refill it with shower gel. malas ku mention apa dibalinya :p hahaha tau tah kamu tu nanti. kes desperate tah sudah tu. Back in the train, me and Kimin stopped at university station while Razan took the next stop. Both of us went to the library to get book for Razan and do some printings (which btw is not free as Kimin suggested :p awu walaupun holiday, printing inda free bui~). As we walked home, we noticed the university area is pretty much deserted and quiet now that the holiday just started.
while we're at Day In, Kimin mentioned about the earth hour and as they share the same enthusiasm as me, we decided to do it together later. As for me personally, i genuinely support the cause and join in for the fun of it. I know by doing it, i dont change anything much but it's just for my self-satisfaction because aku paling pantang kalau org bazir karan, especially if they leave their lights on when they leave the room for hours. its just unacceptable. its financially restraint as well, but im just being me, i always been conscious with electricity use. you can say i have ocd about switching off any switch.
At 7pm, i headed to the dawls to hang out with Razan, Hanis and Kimin for the earth hour. Thanks Jajan for the foods <3 and thanks kamu~ i was having so much fun tadi :) At exactly 8.30pm, we switched off the lights, tv and the heater. We had candle light dinner, playing and posing with the glowsticks and one round of uno game. We were having so much fun we extended the 1hr to 2hrs. It was almost 11pm when we realised it's time to go home and none of us has pack our stuffs yet , and we need to wake up early tomorrow for our flight. Plus, the british summer time starts tomorrow which means our clock forward to one hour. one hour less of sleep :s
more interesting pictures will be uploaded after i got back from my trip. and maybe the videos as well ;)
im so excited for Prague!gotta finish my packing. see you later peeps.
im quoting Nyls. thats the name of our band -- me, nyls and abu. hard mode only. ceh. brigali hahahaaa.
maritah becerita.
after badminton, footie and few rounds of rock band me and nyls went to the city with hanis to meet up with abu and kimin. 3pm and it was sleeting. although we are aware of the fact that the city is dead after 5pm on sunday we went out anyway. melayan boring. after a few shop hopping we decided to eat out tapi all the shops were starting to close which was ruining our mood. even c kimin mengusut (which was really rare, hahahaaa he was quiet except asking for food) kan chillax di starbucks tutup. kan makan di yum yum tutup awal tia jua. last last we went to subway. it was snowing and kash with frens have already joined us by then. ksian durang menarik beg ikut kami food hunting. then after about 25mins kami hang out di subway, kan tutup tia jua. so we had nowhere else to go lagi other than going home. its sad wah -- we're going to the city to buang boring kan chill di cafe but we ended up going home feeling more dull. back home, we continued our rock band round. radh and hanis came to try hysteria on expert.
bored wah kami, inda puas window shopping kali. hahahaa. one time i stop singing and blurted, "kan makan maggi ku eh". i ended up cooking magi kari plus talur for four (me, nyls, radh and abu). best yo makan magi kari panas2 masa winter ani. i kept on asking abu about the time and everytime he replied it seems like the time is going on a slow motion. by 11pm, everyone abis bateri udah. its not a lazy sunday but definitely a slow one. another weekend's over.
last night i watched Underworld: Rise of the Lycans with few Bibers. i loooooooooove it. i knew the third movie gonna be good because the first two movies are. something is bugging me as soon as the movie ends -- i was thinking really hard to connect the three stories together and i did make mistakes telling others about the previous movies -- my bad. all in all, good movie excites me :)
i have overdue pictures i wanted to post in my blog:

BiB Intra-Society Women's Double: me and Fadz won bronze medal (easy mcm kacang~. for obvious reason. lols)one of my latest addition
what else is happening since my last post? the snow is still here.my badminton coach tukar udah. this time, better than the previous one. he used to play with england team before and i like the way he teaches. im hoping i'll get better (it seems like i dont :s). on a different day, my step class mcm makin confusing with all the steps yg bepusing2 bagi paning but it's all good. last week, i was all sweaty i took a risk to have a quick shower at the sports centre (open yo. nasib kosong nada org masatu. hahahaaa) . talking about sports, i miss playing netball.
our groceries got delivered today. aint it wonderful... straight to our door :) although i dont think my juices gonna last longer than a week (and i bought 4 cartoons!)
its a busy days ahead. have a good week people.
I had the most awesome yet tiring weekend.
It started off with Friday. I was working in the lab the whole afternoon. Who knows, identifying different species of river bugs can be so exhausting. Mlmnya, we had ice breaking session where i get to meet newcomers and mingle around. The foods were great as usual and we met two cute little girls, the daughter of a postgrad here. Child-deprived banar kami atu, abis the girls kami surrounded. We played get-to-know game and continuing their legendary tradition, the 688 guys introduced their new bagi-mental game again but i managed to crack it after few patterns.
Saturday follows with 2hrs badminton game at 10am. We watched the BiB guys played football against indonesians after that. Then, Naili and me went to the city with Rad and Hanis for a shopping spree. We were so hungry by the time we went to the first shop so we ate at Yum Yum Chicken. This new food chain at Martineau Place, good menus, reasonable price and great seating place. After we're done we went back to Pallasades, me and Naili went to Home2Home while the other two went to Evolution to buy Fatin's gifts. By the time we finished, both our hands were full with shopping bags. We went to Tesco waiting for the other two to finish their shopping. Something happened while we're waiting outside Tesco, just imagine us two with lots of shopping bags and this crazy guy kept on looking and talking to us sometimes to himself. Luckily, Abu and Azrul were there so i managed to seek their help, jadi bodyguard. hehe. Then we girls balik pakai taxi. On the same night, me and Naili went to Dawlish Road to help the girls preparing for their open house.
Then came Sunday,i woke up way too early than usual cos i was confused of the time. It's the end of summertime and now the clock goes back one hr. The reason for the waking up early was to help the Dawlish girls preparing the foods. We finished at almost 2pm just when the guest started to come. It was a great open house, kudos to Hazimah Hanis, i can see she's really putting her effort into it. And to her housemates as well for being a great hostess. For the end of the night story, let's just say that i almost wet my pants because i was laughing so hard. Happy belated birthday to Fatin, seriously sumo melayu in action is the best birthday gift ever!
Overall, a very exhausting awesome weekend. I havent fully rest from it. I had class trip today to Winterbourne Garden. I havent really get enough sleep so i was kinda off while on the site. It was hailing lagi tu, so after surveying the woodlands for one hr and a half, i went back home.
Im tired but i cant seem to rest.

I had a blast weekend. Thanks to my lovely crazy BiBers :)
Last Thursday, we had jemaah @ 688 together with farewell dinner. That night the voting of the new committee member for BiB were conducted. Thanks to Sukri for sponsoring the foods.
Last Friday, went out with the guys to buy stuffs for BBQ gathering for the next day. We girls sleepover at Milner with Hanis and Shuhir for that nite. Thanks to Hanis for being a great host during our stay. It was lovely :) You stuffed us girls with your famous lamb recipe and great desserts! Razan came back to Birmingham on the early morning and we're still up. We miss you Razan! Thank you for Patchi and you dont look tanned.
Last Saturday, it was raining-hailing-sunny-hailing-raining-sunny-raining and it went like that till late afternoon. Nevertheless the weather is sunny enough to host a BBQ day. So off we went to Ka Yun's place to have a BBQ at her backyard. Perfect house for a BBQ and off course for a litte game. hehehe. We had our usual Bruneian style of gathering: foods and more foods. From grilled chicken to krispy kreme to banoffee pie, at the end of the day we went home feeling fat. The treasure hunt was a spontaneous decision for me to plan so my apology if it was a little bit unorganized but by the look of it everyone was having fun and that's great :) After the treasure hunt and prize giving ceremony, it was getting darker so we went inside settled down to announce the vote results. Congrats for the newly elected BBSS Committee Members 08/09, wish you guys all the best and do your very best in making Birmingham more happening place for Brunei students here.
It was a great Saturday for me because i get to spend more time with all of you dari pagi sampai tgh malam. I have to admit im gonna miss this day. From getting ready with the girls putting on make up, breakfast, making sandwiches, bbq, chilling outside although the weather was indecisive that day, jamming (thanks to Hudz and Azrul for playing me that song), the hectic games, lots and lots of pictures taking, lots and lots of laughing, lots and lots of eating (thanks to the guys for preparing the chicken the night before, Saiful for the cornflakes, Hazmy for Krispy Kremes, Shaz for banoffee pie, Azrul Mus and Mallie mostly for grilling the chicken and sausages, to those who brings all the extra junk food, fruits and helped in bbq-ing).
Thanks to Windrush Grove for the huge backyard.. Haha sori hancur living room kamu after the treasure hunt. Thanks to my treasure hunt committee members (Hanis, Shuhir, Shaz, Ka Yun) for willing to be the most wanted people for that day although it was a last minute proposal.
Yesterday, we had pancakes as breakfast. Thanks to Fadz and Hanis for making it (bleh jadi housewives sudah ni. hehe). We left Milner on the afternoon and walked back home. Again Hanis, you're the best. hehee. Kalau sunyi2, dtg2 saja ke 752 k. I spent the rest of the day uploading pics to fb, around 6+ we went to the field near Cannonhill Park and played 'bomb' (a dodgeball game) with 688 guys,1st av, Yani, Sukri, Taufiq and Muiz. By 8pm, the day's still bright. Ate dinner at 10pm and at 11 we watched a movie 'Awake'. An interesting movie of unexpected plots, literally this movie will keep you awake as you want to know more of the stories.
Thats it. So i wrapped up my packed weekend with great memories nailed in my heart :))))
I wish everyone all the best. Have a good week ahead. I have a month to do my final yr exam revisions. Good luck.

yesterday was a great fun. i personally love watching BruManch and LufBru netball teams plays, they are great players; fast, smooth and slick. It was wow! As for us the Rojak Midlands, we are one hell of cheerleaders, we cheered for everyone and getting the 5th place out of 6th is not so bad afterall. It's the fun we're seeking, not victory. It was a great day, good sportmanship and teamwork. Well done to those who participated and to BruLeics Society for organising the event.
I want to say sorry to my opponent partner(s) if i pushed you or in any way intimidating, im not that much of a player myself. Congrats to the winners!

and to Diyana, get well soon <3here's another review from another Aston undergrad (for related posts, click here). I asked from her permission sudah to copy and paste her post because she refused to be linked. hehehe malu ia! To BiBs, guess who wrote this:
in brief, there are only two cities i like to visit, london and birmingham. london because its a city and u never feel lonely there and birmingham is just right cos its still a city, u never feel lonely (well i dont) but u can still be alone if u choose to be. and.... the best thing is.. its a LOT cheaper! transport and food and accommodation and entertainment is cheaper!!!! and, birmingham to london (ie if u come from heathrow also) is cheap! and birmingham is central to all cities (i learned this frm studying the rrailway maps when im bored on the train) and everything always passes thru birmingham! it helps that its a very multi racial city and that we have many tesco, asda,(other cities, or kampung or village or town wherever else ur considering only have one if theyre lucky) fast food places (many still havent discovered but theres enough for us already) and bowling and many green grass/park.. hehe..when i was looking for a uni i wanted to know1.... is my uni buruk? bida? intimidating? i dont want it to be so historical etc bla blaAston uni is in the city and has enough facilities for me. its soooo not scary hehe. its quite small (compared to birmingham uni) but then u dont get so tired walking around campus! theres places to eat (always) around it only abt 3 min walk and theres always the city which is also abt 5 min walk. and the city has bullring and selfridges and huge borders if u just wanna read kill time.Birmingham Uni i dont have to promote but its like gilmore girls and harry potter and think they have everything there.2.. is my allowance enough???yessss it isssssss. u can save up or spend it whatever all ur expenses shud be covered and have some leftover to play with.. nadawah hehe but i remember i kept on worrying abt this3.. how are the ppl like in birmingham??other than very friendly bruneians who like to help (not kidding!) and like to meet up a lot at each others houses... everyone minds their own business and there are police everywhere if ur scared of what or what. i remember when i first came i had the worst experience ever but im not gna share it cos takut put off.. hehehehe4... how far am i from my uniif u live in pershore road, a bus ride away (30 mins if banyak stops or peak hours) to Aston Uni, and 30 min WALK to bham uni. if u live elsewhere.... kan sama also
good one =)
Right now im still in Cardiff for the weekend, yesterday was Dirgahayu Darussalam and today im just hang out. Less than 48 hours im here and I already miss Birmingham...aish cana ni?
MadPaintball Tournament 2008
Date: 23rd February 2008
Venue: Cosford, Wolverhampton Birmingham
Organiser: Ariffin from Leicester and BiB (as Ariffin's sidekick xD)
Teams: 14 teams
Team Slayer (from Leicester)
Welsh Guards A (from Cardiff)
Welsh Guards B
Welsh Guards C
Kaizoku (from Southampton)
Brumanch
Brustu
Hantu Jepun (from Sheffield)
Bruleeds
BruMingham (my team)
MD All Stars (the second Birmingham team)
Nottingham
SSN (from Kent)
Lufbru (from Loughborough)
The night before MDP 2k8, instead of cracking up a strategy for the paintball day on the next day we the BiBs were busy cooking, preparing and packing foods for over 200 players. At first (and this was when Ariffin proposed to us about the foods preparation) we thought it was impossible to do it. Cooking for more than 200 people! we are not caterer but we accepted his proposal and began our plan a week before the big event. The sambal was specially cooked Ka Yun :) thank you, your sambal is the hotness! The packing finished around 2 oclock in the morning, a huge thanks to those who helps in making this possible. Thank you for your commitment guys!
Birmingham teams are divided into two: BruMingham and MD All Stars. BruMingham has all BiBers in it while MD All Stars is a mixed of BiBers and Tony's friends back in MD (hence, the name. and most of BiBers in that team is ex-MDian as well). The reason for that is that we dont have enough interested BiBers, thats why we invite some friends to join in the fun. Regardless, both teams are Birmingham Teams
Lack of sleep tired from the night before, our coach departed from Birmingham around 7.10am and reached Cosford at 8am. We were given coveralls and placed in our respected camp. Team briefing at 9am as we were given the masks, markers, pellets and the rest of the equipments. There's two division to start with each division has 7 teams playing against each other and in the end, those who gets the highest points will get to meet the team from other division and compete. MD All Stars was in Divison 1 while BruMingham was in Division 2. By 10.30, we starts our first game competing with Team Slayer. Our first game, we lost. hahaha.
We won 4 games out of 7. How's the game? omg! you have got to play to know how exciting it is! i can talk forever about how awesome the paintball game is, the adrenaline rush you get, the feeling that you need to hide to avoid from shooters, the satisfaction of eliminating your opponent, the smell of victory :D Once the game starts, the marshall shouts go! thats when you run for cover and hear the extensive shooting from everywhere, you find yourselves in killing mode with no mercy at all for your opponent. All you wanna do is shoot (if you're not responsible in getting the flag lah). The rule of the game is to get the flag and bring it to your base or your opponent's base - you'll win the game. Otherwise, eliminate all your opponent members and you could still win the game. This year, we only get to play in 3 different fields, different scenario, different situation.
We won our first winning during our third game in which Mallie got the flag playing against SSN. Thats when the spirit went high and boost up our confidence to win another game but unfortunately we didnt win the 4th game.
My story: 5th game against Welsh Guards B, we won again :D and this time I got the flag because i was the last man standing. aku nervous brabis. hahaaa at first the game was fast, i managed to shot few opponents not realising that most of my team members were eliminated. My markers rosak few minutes after that when Azrul who just got eliminated passed behind me and gave me his marker instead. So i continued my shooting but then pellets ku keabisan so i have to refill my hooper. For a second, i was having this thought of the opponent were running towards me and shot me upclose while i was refilling my hooper. Luckily inda. So after i refilled my marker, i continued my shooting. I was targeting this person who was hiding inside this huge hole in the center garam hatiku inda kana, instead of hiding i kept standing and went back and forth from my cover to shot the person. At last, mati jua ia oleh ku. So seeing that it was clear, i moved forward to the next cover when i realised that the field has gone quiet. I searched for my team but nobody is around. Thats when its cleared to me that maybe i was the only one left and dlm fikiranku matiku kana belasah ni karang. It was quiet for a moment when the marshall shouted that the game had 2 more minutes to last. Baru ku realise that i was not actually the only one left among my team but i am the only one left in the field. So i ran towards the center searching for the flag, panickingly searching for it then i saw it. The dirty flag lies among the bushes. So i grabbed the flag and ran towards the opponent base and won the game with full point. It all happened so fast i lost my breath in the end. Thats one of the best moment ive ever experience. Unforgettable feeling.
Our 6th game, we won playing against BruStu team. Im not playing during this time but i did went in to watch them played and record the game.
Our final game was very interesting. BruMingham vs MD All Stars. Both are from Birmingham. haha. We were competing for the 7th place out of 14th. Since it was our last game of the day and both are from Birmingham, we decided not to compete but to have fun instead. We planned not to get the flag and just compete by eliminating everyone and see who is the last man standing. Basically, during our last game we didnt play to win. Either way, 7th or 8th place, Birmingham team still wins. The game lasted until the last minutes but in the end BruMingham gets the 7th place because Doni accidentally touched the flag. Hahaha funny thing, he left the flag and continue with our original plan. Marshall pun tercangang melihat ulah kami. They told us thats the weirdest game they've ever seen. Dua dua team inda beguna flag. Hahaha kami mau main shot shot saja. Siuk berabis!!!
I know Team MD All Stars have their own awesome stories as well and they're great too. Ive seen them playing and wow if i dont know any better, i would think they were all ganas people based on their play. Imagine, the cute Razan on the field, ganas yo...cuba kamu liat. Hahaha. Atu baru satu example ku bagi, byk lagi cerita. Too many stories to tell, too memorable experience to forget. Overall, it's a great accomplishment for Birmingham team. Last year, we sent one team and not all of them are from BiBers and we got the 12th place out of 14th. But this year, we sent two teams and both teams wins side by side: 7th and 8th place respectively out of 14th. Well done guys!!!!
Final game was between Kaizoku vs Team Slayer. In the final game, Kaizoku wins the MDP 2k8 trophy.
I would like to say thanks to all the BiBers whom involved in food preparations and all the paintballers (BruMingham and Md All Stars). Im so proud to be a part of this crazy group =) We managed to do it guys! Be proud of yourselves. Im so grateful everything went well as planned. And to Ariffin as well for giving us the opportunity to get involved, you're the man!
It was great meeting up with friends and watching them fully uniformed with full spirit to fight for their team. Once you're out in the field, ganas yo. Inda lagi kira kawankah inda, it really shows the game spirit and great teamwork. It's nice to see them like that =)

Birmingham is a big city located in the west midlands region of UK. It
is considered as the second city of UK or known as the Muslim capital
of Britain due to its large numbers of Muslim population. Birmingham
has one of the best shopping areas in the UK and being in the midlands
it is very accessible and cheaper to travel to other parts of UK:
Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, London, Cardiff, where there are
large Bruneian student population. They are approximately 2 to 3 hours away
both by coach(bus) and train. Birmingham also has its very own
Birmingham International Airport which offers over 1000 direct and
indirect flights.Within
the city itself, there are 3 train stations: Birmingham New
Street, Birmingham Moor Street and Birmingham Snow Hill. Once you
arrives in Birmingham at any of these 3 stations, you will find
yourselves already in the city centre so it is very convenient to
travel to Birmingham even for a day trip because you can actually stop
by Birmingham, do your shopping and take a train to another place.
You can say that Birmingham is a shopping heaven because the Bullring Shopping Centre is one of Europe's largest city centre shopping centres and UK's busiest shopping centre. Halal food and meats are easy to find in Birmingham, there's many halal takeaways, restaurants and butchers around. We have Chinatown where there is oriental shop selling oriental foods like Indomee, ABC soy sauce, Maggi Sauce, etc. Rag markets, Indoor and Outdoor markets are available if you need to buy fresh fruits and veggies, fresh seafoods and halal meats can be found at the indoor markets. Watching movies at cinema is cheaper at £3.70 per person with student discounts. More student discounts are available at most shops provided that you show your student ID. Also, with coupons printed from studentbeans.com, you can get more student discount deals. Being a student is heaven =)
Birmingham is a cheaper version of London.

Birmingham has 3 universities and 2 university colleges : University of Birmingham, Aston University, Birmingham City University, University College Birmingham and Newman University College.
Im
gonna talk about University of Birmingham and Aston University only
because im not familiar with the other universities and currently both
universities are in one of the top 50 list in MoE scholarship requirements.
I am currently a student in my 3rd year at the University of Birmingham (UB). It's a very old established university and has a very huge campus and beautiful building achitecture. It is 8 mins by train or 20 mins by bus away from the city centre. Being slightly far away from the city centre, clearly the surrounding residential areas are mostly occupied by students giving the university a very nice and safe environment to study. You can find most of your needs here without having to go to the city to shop. In the university centre, we have our own stationery shop, bookshop (a 3-floor Waterstone's), two convenience shops, bank branches (Hsbc, Natwest, Barclays and Lloyds tsb) so if you wish to deal with bank it's easy to do it from uni, airline branch (you can book plane ticket from here), money exchange, optical shop, hairdresser, bar, computer shop, post office, cards and gift shop, insurance branch, souvenir shop and few cafe and one halal section in our food court.
In terms of university facilities, there is a huge main library and other primary libraries, prayer's room, student guild where you can seek advice and representation centre and meet the student body, computer facilities, sports centre (gym, courts, swimming pool, sauna, numerous football pitches).
As you walk outside the university gate, you'll find numerous halal fast food chains and other shops. Student halls are within short walking distance from the uni. Most houses outside the university are rented by university students making it a safe student area. It is advisable to stay in rented house because the Birmingham University accomodation halls are expensive. There's numerous house agents available outside the university if you're having difficulty finding a house. House rent is approximately £50-£70 per week.
Currently there are 13 Bruneians studying in Birmingham University
Aston University. I cant say much on this as well (sori~). It's situated in the city centre itself, about 5 mins walk away from the shopping centres. Smaller compared to Birmingham University but has more Bruneians studying here. About 20 people i supposed ^^ (conclusionnya ramai lah di Aston atu dari UB). Visit the website for more, or i might give you the link to one of Aston people once they done their review on Aston.
There are few Bruneians studying at Birmingham City University and University College Birmingham as well.
Although we Bruneians study at different uni, most of us live close to each other at Pershore Road which is 15-20 minutes away by bus to the city centre. It's a very peaceful environment and we look out for each other. Every thursday night, we have Isya' jemaah and a small sort of dinner gathering among us. We also have sports activity almost every weekend. We called ourselves the BiB (Bruneians in Birmingham), although we're not an official society yet, but we are trying to promote more Bruneians coming here because it's not only the best place to study, it's also the best place to be. I love my time in Birmingham =)
Any qns do email me at nisazaini46@hotmail.com or visit BruneiStudent.com and post your questions under Student Canteen & RestRoom forum or visit our BiB Forum to interact with us Bibers. It doesnt have to be about Birmingham, you can ask about student life in general. Otherwise, please leave your comments in the chatterbox :)

It's definitely the weather. and the holiday. My sleeping patterns are totally messed up.
Participated in Christmas Carol at Birmingham University yesterday at 4pm with Razan. There were people from different background came singing Christmas songs in various language and we were singing Christmas songs in Japanese. The song goes like this, Jinguru Beru Jinguru Beru~
*singing along with Jingle Bell Jingle Bell tune*. We lined up
ourselves at the circular stairs so that the crowd could see us, sang
two songs (Silent Night and Jingle Bells songs - both in Japanese). It
was fun, especially during the Jinguru Beru chorus when everyone
started to laugh and clap along at the cuteness of the word and the way
we sang it. After the show, we headed to Uni Centre to get a sandwich
and met Wee Cheng (luruskah namanya ni? hehe) sekajap. Then i joined
Razan went back to her home, she made me hot Milo, ahhhhhhh heaven~. Night, had Isya' Jemaah at Windrush
followed by delicious dinner. My battery went dead and i took a nap
while the others were watching tv afterwards. Walked back home before
headed to 688 for the usual hang out.

8th June:
First day, we managed to watch Hinder, Megadeth, From autumn to ashes, Saosin, Porcupine tree, Paramore, Velvet Revolver and Iron Maiden. Me and Mona were laidback over the whole thing, we didnt even dressed up for it. I wore a black tshirt with a white hoodie, while Mona's wearing a yellow-striped hoodie. Once we get to Derby shuttle bus, all the people there were wearing black and looked so metal and emo. Kami flashing dashing. LOL. out out. So by the time we arrived at the festival site, Hinder was already playing on the main stage. But before that we had to go through ticket gate, aku kana fikir 16 ah, my god i feel so small. Aku taulah aku inda nampak metal. mental. So yea, after Hinder we walked to the Dimebag Darrell Stage to catch From autumn to ashes appearance and stayed there to watch Saosin, Porcupine tree and Paramore. Pasal kami damit, we managed to get to the front area. What i didnt know is that the moshing part will be ganas, selalunya liat dlm tv org lompat2 liat konsert, rupanya cematutah usulnya tu moshing atu. (OoooOooo, baru saya tau *bangang*). My dear lord, kepisan ku kana himpit especially during Paramore's gig. At last, i gave up and asked the guys around me to get me out of there and so i experienced my first crowd surf. I cannot believe i did that, selalu liat dlm tv mcm berijab usulnya kana crowd surf ani, rupanya inda jua. Siuklah, baik jua durang inda lambung2kan aku. hahaha. After i got out, i could feel that im trembling, shaky wah my hands tarus. First experience and aku inda jara. Now i know it's normal to have moshing during rock concert. *notes to self* fikirku org bekelahi wah at first, rupanya it's just the way they enjoying the music. blonde.
After Paramore, we went back to the main stage to watch Velvet Revolver. My chemical romance was playing after that.9th June:
So this time me and Mona went all black and emo. haha. and we got company too, Wira. saiztah tu namanya, he's our saviour of the day.
Second day, we watched 30 seconds to mars, Bowling for soup, Machine Head, Silverstein, Marilyn Manson, Linkin Park.
Bowling for soup was very entertaining, They know how to interact with the crowd with their jokes yg mcm nada saja durang buat. Marilyn Manson the other hand is awesome. God never did i imagine that i could watch them live onstage, Marilyn Manson kali tu ah. And yea, he's that scary in real life. Hahaha. Linkin Park up next and by this time, the three of us already standing close to the stage tapi gila, the crowd were already pushing each other during the break. Plus, flying water bottles war were going on at the same time, kalau water inda jua ku ingau ani isinya alcohol and urine. MEMBARI GALI!
Anyway i thought this time i can tahan the moshing but i couldn't. By the time Linkin Park went onstage, the crowd went crazy. I managed to survive through two songs when i lost one of my contact lens and my vision went blurry. So asked the guys around me to get me up again although they were already worried about me from the start. Balik2 durang tanya aku ok kah inda, pasal aku damit atu bah iatah nampak mcm kanak2 tah banar jua. So that's my second crowd surf =D. Nyanyat (sp?). haha.
So after that, i managed to get to the nearer stage, safe from moshing. I recorded every beginning of their song until my phone memory went full. Linkin Park *sigh* it's a dream come true =DWe had to leave early to catch our last train so we missed few songs from them :(
Worse, we didnt catch the last train. fikir punya fikir we decided to call a cab, 60 pounds yo dari Derby to Birmingham, 45 minutes pulang nganya tu. Then dari Birmingham to my place we took another cab lagi. So iatah cab driver yg to my place ani kambang wah. Ia chatty sama aku, so aku layan saja. aku high kali masatu pasal linkin park still playing on my head. Last last when we were out of the cab barutah ia berani tanya phone number ku. Hahaha, bleh?!?! i just said no and slammed the cab door. Patut tah bejabir usulnya.
So yea, me and Mona survived another day. Linkin Park >>>>>> the 60 pounds taxi ride.
10th June:
We wore emo skirt. Japanese style. hahaha, banar eh this time kana tahan ku lagi pasal my age. Sanak ku sanak. So third day, i planned to watch Paparoach upfront tapi kami akhir. Pasal sunday train to Derby only operates at noon. By the time kami sampai, Paparoach already playing on the main stage. TAPIIIIIIIIII when i was about to get frustrated, they started to play Scars. OMG! atu nangis ku tarus. Aku cinta lagu atu abis-abisan, i think cintaku arah lagu ani more deep compared with linkin park songs (banaaaa....im serious). proofnya, aku nangis from the beginning of the song until the end of it. oh my, kan gugur jantungku meliat durang live.
Then Mastodon playing after and kami turun and managed to get nearer to the stage barrier. We stayed there watching Mastodon, Lamb of God and Stone Sour . One word, ganas. Baik jua kami hampir barrier, nada moshing sana. Three bands ani hard core gila crowdnya. Then after Stone Sour, we went to the other stage to catch Within Temptation show. Crowdnya byk and im a bit disappointed pasal the song that i want to hear durang inda main. Ada technical problem of some sort. I love Sharon's voice nevertheless.
After that, we went back to the mainstage to catch Evanescence. While waiting for them, we saw Bruneian flag waving at the crowd centre. We got there and saw a guy was holding it and he's not even malay or bruneian. Org putih, maybe ia keraja with Brunei company of some sort kali. Inda kami berani tagur, lagipun ia jauh, indakan dipoke inda pedah2. Hahaha. So anyway, Evanescence was great. Amy Lee is the idol. wubwub.
Last and the final one!!! Iron Maiden!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG. speechless ku eh. inda ku tau cana kan explain, it was awesome to watch them live onstage. awesomeness!
We did catch the train this time. Tapi during the first 15 minutes, the train hit something and stop in the middle of the track. I bet it hits some iron metal bar or even a bicycle. hahaha imagination running wild. The train was delayed for about half an hour before it continue its journey to Birmingham.
