Zombie night:
it was on wednesday. i went to the city to buy ticket for Yonex All-England tournament then met up with Jimbo for dinner. After sending him to the train station, i went home knowing that i had a date for video making that night. Little that i know that we'll be making a zombie video. Kudos to the dawls, they came up with the idea. So the dawls came over to our house and the make over session begins.
btw, the video is dedicated to our lovable friend, Ka Yun, for her birthday. We were making scary greetings or it could be that we were actually searching for a reason to act silly in the middle of the night - to become zombie for a day. Ada orang atu excited banar kan jadi zombie terlimpang. LOL.
anyway, back to the video. It was meant to be a surprise gift to her so i didnt blog about it till now. She got her surprised last fri night ;)
on friday night, me and Naili waited at the long queue for about an hour before the Carling Academy gate opened. Opening act done by The Mission District and Saving Amy. After a long wait, Simple Plan appeared with their kick-ass performance. I was annoyed by the crazy mosh-pit group but towards the end i enjoyed myself, i think it was after they sang my favourite song, Save Me, i regained back my excitement. I wish im few inches taller, inda jua ku jarih kana himpit :(
and it gets better :D the song - welcome to my life during the last bit of the concert when they went to the backstage, few mins after, Pierre (the vocalist) came out of nowhere (where me and naili stood at) so imagined the surprise we had when he show himself behind us and sang Untitled. O.M.G. i thought i did take the video but now i couldnt find the file. inda te-save kali :(
after that, he ran back to the stage and sang - Perfect. i didnt record it till the end cos the memory was getting low. i was using Naili's camera because my camera looks pro so i can't bring it to any gigs like this. The concert ended at 10pm. Then we headed straight to 688 place ready for Ka yun's big surprise.
Saturday as per usual filled with 2hrs of badminton. I made a record of serving more than 10 serve consecutively against Yani & Razan. yay me! sampai Shuhir pun menyamal ia inda dpt points. hahaha. i love my badminton partner <3 After badminton, we spent time to watch the Bibers team played footy against HongKong society.
Today, i attended the Indonesian food fair at the university, not badlah the foods. My favourite capture of the day,
sampai hajatnya naik statue ah. hahahaa.Have a great week ahead.
I had the most awesome yet tiring weekend.
It started off with Friday. I was working in the lab the whole afternoon. Who knows, identifying different species of river bugs can be so exhausting. Mlmnya, we had ice breaking session where i get to meet newcomers and mingle around. The foods were great as usual and we met two cute little girls, the daughter of a postgrad here. Child-deprived banar kami atu, abis the girls kami surrounded. We played get-to-know game and continuing their legendary tradition, the 688 guys introduced their new bagi-mental game again but i managed to crack it after few patterns.
Saturday follows with 2hrs badminton game at 10am. We watched the BiB guys played football against indonesians after that. Then, Naili and me went to the city with Rad and Hanis for a shopping spree. We were so hungry by the time we went to the first shop so we ate at Yum Yum Chicken. This new food chain at Martineau Place, good menus, reasonable price and great seating place. After we're done we went back to Pallasades, me and Naili went to Home2Home while the other two went to Evolution to buy Fatin's gifts. By the time we finished, both our hands were full with shopping bags. We went to Tesco waiting for the other two to finish their shopping. Something happened while we're waiting outside Tesco, just imagine us two with lots of shopping bags and this crazy guy kept on looking and talking to us sometimes to himself. Luckily, Abu and Azrul were there so i managed to seek their help, jadi bodyguard. hehe. Then we girls balik pakai taxi. On the same night, me and Naili went to Dawlish Road to help the girls preparing for their open house.
Then came Sunday,i woke up way too early than usual cos i was confused of the time. It's the end of summertime and now the clock goes back one hr. The reason for the waking up early was to help the Dawlish girls preparing the foods. We finished at almost 2pm just when the guest started to come. It was a great open house, kudos to Hazimah Hanis, i can see she's really putting her effort into it. And to her housemates as well for being a great hostess. For the end of the night story, let's just say that i almost wet my pants because i was laughing so hard. Happy belated birthday to Fatin, seriously sumo melayu in action is the best birthday gift ever!
Overall, a very exhausting awesome weekend. I havent fully rest from it. I had class trip today to Winterbourne Garden. I havent really get enough sleep so i was kinda off while on the site. It was hailing lagi tu, so after surveying the woodlands for one hr and a half, i went back home.
Im tired but i cant seem to rest.

LOL. This is not a review, just summaries of Birmingham Raya 2007 so far.
688 Pershore Road The Guys House.
Host: Tony, Mallie, Mus, Azrul, Doni.
Time: Fri 12th Oct, Isya' time.
Menu: rice, steamed fish, fried fish, rice, kuah dal, naan.
Summary: it's not an open house, just a gathering for takbir raya so the guys were in their usual tshirt but most of the girls were in baju kurung. Performed Isya' prayer together then we had takbir raya after that; all the guys recited takbir raya individually started by Doni and doa takbir led by Mallie. Few sobbing and tears during the takbir but it's all good. Kek raya were served as well, raya songs in the background and picture session continues as usual.
47 Sandbourne Road.
Host: Saiful, K.Fadz, Yati, Adlina.
Time: Sat 13th Oct, after Zuhur.
Menu: ayam percik, mushroom, laksa penang, tiramisu, nasi lemak, lotsss of kek raya
Summary: it's the time of the year when we all wear baju kurung and parade ourselves to the bus stop. It might looks like an early halloween for others but for us, it's RAYA man! It's the time when you get to see guys in cara melayu (total hotness btw) other than in wedding's ceremony. Any guys in cara melayu with the sinjang and all = smart hottie. Anyway, back to 47 house, Yati cooked most of the foods served and it's great. At 5pm, we headed home because we had another house to 'langgar'.
63 Milner Road The Girls House.
Host: Razan, Hanis, Yani.
Time: Sat 13th Oct, after Maghrib.
Menu: i dont know what's the name of their cuisine but everything's there: there's lamb, fish, chicken, sayur. I only got to eat the fish and the chicken.
Summary: Hanis's parents were in Birmingham for few days and so they cooked all the foods for their open house. Parents' cooked meals = awesome. Met cigu Julie there for the first time and recognised her instantly as one of MD teacher, she's here doing in-service postgrad in Birmingham University. Met Razan's frens as well coming all the way from Notts but they were pretty quiet malu kali durang kan mingle around. hehe. By the end of their open house, we all walked back home. Seriously, it's really sexy parading along the streets in our baju kurung. A lovely night it was. We girls went home to change our clothes before we headed to the guys house to hang out. We were playing DDR (not me :p), Tekken and Need for Speed PS2 games and only went home at 3am.
752 Pershore Road (our house!)
Host: Me, Hudz, E.Fadz, Shaz
Time: Wed 17th Oct, after Maghrib
Menu: We have menus from each of us. hehee.
- From me: nasi biryani, honey grilled chicken, lamb masak kerisik, sayur acar, popia kentang, air bandung
- From Hudz: laksa, fried cashew nuts, brownies, ice lemon tea
- From Shaz: apple crumble, potato salad, stuffed mushroom (and this is from Fadz too! hehe)
Extra special bit: we planned to make a surprise bday for Huda that night and it went great. I mass sms-ed everyone the day before and it reads like this:
Salam all,
You are all invited to 752 Pershore Road Raya Open House this wednesday 5pm onwards. Spread the words.
Ps: we gonna make surprise bday bash for Huda as well. JGN GITAU HUDA! Any bday discussion should only be discussed whenever she's not around. Hehe, c u guys!
Note: we changed the time to after maghrib because we think the cooking wont be done by then. Anyway, back to the surprise, sometime between the picture session and dessert we asked Razan to distract Hudz to go upstairs asking for *cough* girl-related problem *cough* and within that 2 minutes, we panickingly brought out balloons (freshly-blown. LOL) from Shaz's room and excitedly waiting for Hudz to come back downstairs. Here's the sequence: Hudz's upstairs in her room, check. Balloons, check. Banner, check. Cake, check. Candles, check. Presents, check. Lights off, check. Smiley faces, check. Camera on, check. Keep quiet, check. Waiting.... And she came.....*singing Birthday song*. LOL. Mission accomplished. High-five. Hehehehehee. Huge thanks to all for making it successful.
Awesome night =D
So that's our raya so far. There are still few open house coming soon. Overall week: Hectic. Tired. Lack of sleep. I even took a short nap at the guys house yesterday eventhough the DDR game was on loud.
Tomorrow, most of the BiB are going to Leeds to support our members' participation in BruLeeds raya; Good luck to Mallie (who's going to mc the event) and Hanis (who's going to perform in traditional dancing). It's gonna be fun.
Im off. This picture is nice. hahaha gotta love the purple balloons =Dcredits to Alan, our camera guy. The one with the double anti blur. hehee *inside joke* He's shy around camera xP
